Training Log 25 Apr – 1 May 16
Four weeks into training and the heel pain from last week seems to have gone, so it’s back to running again. Did the usual Monday 10k at Pallarenda with my running partner Geraldine. I had a play with our son’s GOPRO and stabilizer to capture some running footage, just have to learn how to edit now before I can post it.
Wednesday was the 8k run around the Red Track for the JCU running study. I can honestly say 20 laps around the track is not very exciting. It was all for a good cause though and hopefully the study will get something out of the data collected on the day. The study is still looking for more volunteers; all that’s required is running the 8k and keeping a running log for 12 months or until injury stops you from running. If you’re interested, contact sara.winter@jcu.edu.au
Friday morning did a bit of trail running with friends on the Castle hill tracks. This is us after the run; the girls are looking pretty fresh, might have to push a bit harder next time.
Sunday morning, my running partner and I did the same track, then treated ourselves to breakfast at a new little café in Currajong, the Wild Oak and Cobblestone. Top feed and great coffee.
That’s it for this week. Don’t forget to head over to the Townsville Bulletin Chosen Ones page where you can read more about our fundraising for Ronald McDonald House NQ and make a donation.
